New Product - Complete silent electric fuel pump kit
Popular200.00 USD
Description
As we all have observed, there isn't an available and reliable mechanical fuel pump for Corvairs and with today's fuel there are many reasons to convert to an electric pump, especially the issues of dry carburetors after parking and vapor lock concerns.
Electric pump installations are currently DIY installations of off-the shelf pumps that leave many details unanswered, lack complete instructions, and are certainly not complete kits. The main kit that's out there is rudimentary, noisy, and actually more costly than our new kit.
Racer's pump installation is both hidden and SILENT. In a quiet room with the car not running, the pump is just barely audible. Also unique to the Racer's kit is its installation is entirely "up front" there are no wires to the rear and there's no need for any wiring, plumbing, or additional switches in the engine compartment.
This new "Plug-n-Play" kit contains everything needed for a basic installation plus highly detailed step-by-step instructions for most 61-69 cars; at a competitive price of $200. Note: Not suitable for A/C or Gas Heater equipped cars.
Below, there's a photo of the pump assembly, small parts, kit and installed pump. The pump is located between the fuel tank and right frame rail, not under the floor as with other kits.
Sales have been going very well; the first and second batches sold out quickly and I'm into the third batch now.
In addition to the comprehensive kit, there are two optional items.
1) Fuel pump bypass plate for those who wish to keep the engine compartment looking stock and 2) An electronics module that provides 10-second automatic carburetor priming and automatic fuel pump cut-off should there be a loss of oil pressure.
If you're interested, these kits can be ordered through my website at racersrods.com. Select "Corvair Products" from the across the page menu bar.
