Dear Members:

The April 26 visit to the USS Slater was informative, fun and in my opinion, enjoyed by everyone. We had a total 18 members, family & friends in attendance with six beautiful Corvairs. Yes, Chris Glander does have a Corvair! The weather more than cooperated and we even had a chance to see some the filming of "Salt" Angelina Jolie's upcoming movie, which in part is being filmed in Albany.

Our lunch meeting at the 76 Diner proved to be a lot of fun and delicious too. The folks at the diner were very accommodating. The plan for May is our annual cruise-in meeting at PJ's Barbeque. It will be held, Tuesday May 26. We should plan to arrive sometime between 5:30 and 6:00 to register our Corvairs for a complimentary chicken dinner. This event has proven to be one of the club's favorites. We usually have more than 10 cars in attendance and PJ's set aside a special place for us to park as a group. If you are attending, just show up! PJ's is located just north of exit 13N of I-87 (Northway) on route 9, Saratoga Springs. Be there or be square.

Where were all you “hearty” folks that didn’t go to Rhinebeck. The sun finally came out on the way home. I hear Harold Basset took home an award for his 66 Convertible.

Don’t forget the “Manchester car show” coming up on June 13 & 14. Altamont fairgrounds or Saratoga auto museum, May 16. Flip a coin. The Spring Dust-off Corvair show at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Contoocook NH. Nice show if you don’t mind the drive. May 16 Guptil’s cruise in starts 2nd Monday in June. I just got my App. for the Bennington car show, Sept. 18 & 19. At the old race track again. Hemming’s cruise in at Bennington, every other Thursday, starts May 14.

Now, all we need is gas money.
