Dear Members: I would like to thank everyone who attended our first meeting. We all welcomed Jerry and Diane Thomas our newest members. Special thanks to Steve and Sherri who chose the 76 Diner and arranged our meeting. The food and service was very good. As the new President of the club I would like to encourage all members to participate in what will prove to be a fun year of club activities. Please see Walt's meeting minutes for our tentative list of monthly events/meetings. I am open to all ideas and suggestions for making our club more fun, interesting and educational for all members. Please call me or e-mail anytime with your comments. Suggestions or ideas. Steve and Sherri have suggested a trip to FDR's Presidential Library in Hyde Park, NY. I have visited the web site. This looks like a nice drive. We will discuss this at our March meeting. Our March gathering will be held at the Saratoga Auto Museum, Sunday, March 25th at 2 PM. Our members and guests will pay a reduced admission of $3.50, that's 1/2 off the regular cost. In addition to the usual displays, there will be a special motorcycle exhibit. BORN 2 RIDE America on two wheels. Immediately following the museum visit will be our meeting with dinner at Saratoga's Peking Restaurant (Buffet Style). I will arrange a discount price for the dinner as soon as I know how many will be attending. Please let me know if you are planning to come to the museum, dinner meeting or both as soon as you can. It appears that our tour master, Bob Addis has made the news with his ice racing Corvair! The February 25th Post Star had a huge photo of Bob and his car, but never mentioned him or how great Corvairs handle on the ice. Just ask Bruce Carlton, our member who has been participating for years on ice as well as dry land. Well that's enough for this month. I can't wait to hear the hum of my Corvair engine. Spring is near. Regards, Peter There will be a valuable Corvair grab bag prize given away to one lucky member attending the March meeting.
