PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - JUNE 2009

Dear Members and friends:

Our May 26 meeting and eating visit to PJ's Barbeque was a total blast. There were ten member Corvairs and one potential member's Corvair for a grand total of eleven beautiful examples of our fine vintage automobiles.

The hospitality of PJ and his staff was, as always was top notch. They look forward to our visit each year and never mind feeding us free chicken dinners. I will be sending PJ's a note of thanks on behalf of the club.

Now that June is here there are no excuses for not getting the cob webs out of your Corvair. The June meeting will be held, as has been the tradition at the Manchester Antique and Classic Car Show on June 13&14 in Vermont. Look for Walt and Harry to stand in for your President as I will be at the optional D.A.R.E. Car Show in Schoharie County (Blenheim) June 14th. I was lucky there last year with a best in show trophy for my Corvair. If anyone is interested in directions to or details about this show, please call or e-mail me. It is a beautiful spot without all that tree pollen.

We are firming up the plans for the CDCC annual picnic. It will again be held at Moreau State Park at the end of July. We will reserve a pavilion with a grill near the lake, trails and restrooms for everyone's enjoyment. I will advise the exact date as soon as possible. In the meantime enjoy the nice weather. The cruise in at the Kmart plaza in Greenwich is every Monday evening.

Bruce Carlton is recovering from “lime disease” . Let’s all wish him a speedy recovery.
