Nice, clean, '63 Spyder convertible. This is the last time I post this before I keep it and improve it even more. Local Los Angeles car. New brakes and top. Not rust repaired or wrecked. Has original black plate. Turbo engine was gone when I got it - replaced by a 110 from a '66. Engine has been gone through with carburetor rebuilds and cam. Runs well. Good clutch. New top. I have 4 wire wheel covers for it too. In the last few years, it has been driven on the road only to the California Highway Patrol for VIN verification. Drives very well. Very good paint. Was repainted years ago and some of the trim was not replaced - it's in the trunk. Needs carpet set and detailing. Easy projects for the hobbyist. I see Spyders trade for $7500 to $10,000. I have $5390 in this car. It's got to be worth $4300 in this economy. Like I said, if someone doesn't recgnize this gem in the making, I'm keeping it. Complete set of early 4dr arm rests with nos black pads.  These are in the original GM boxes.  The rear set is flawless and the front set has minor scuffing only on the bottom from the box.  $240 shipped.

Only thinking of selling because of economy!

This car has been in the family over 20 years.  It could be considered a "theft recovery"  As a backyard mechanic had it for some time, and managed to take some parts from it.  I have, with the much-appreciated help of a well-known professional mechanic, brought it to driveable codition again.

The engine has headers, and 2 carbs, with block-off plates for the other 2.  When my Father purchased this car for my brother, It had a single holley 4barrel.  I do have the manifold, and a couple of quadrajets.  The engine needs to be re-sealed, at the very least.  I have a volkswagen bug fuel tank, in the trunk, for temporary use.  I spent over 2 grand at the shop in Frankfort just to get this car to run, drive, and stop. 

Otherwise, it's a rough project.  It was in the braket races "Down in Arkansas."  I don't know much more than that about it's race history.  There were time slips in the car, I do have the old front brake locking device.  I guess that's the only real proof I have readily available.

The differential was rebuilt by a chevrolet mechanic/corvair hobbyist many years, and only a couple hundred miles ago.  '65 transaxle.  Many wheels/tires can go with this car.

This car was my brother's, and we had almost Identical 66 corsas back when we were teenagers.  Mine was closer to stock, and is gone.  This has parts from my very first car.  Obvious sentimental value.  I ask $5,000, but will negotiate.

Due to being laid off, I need to put up for sale my 1961 Corvair Greenbrier.  She has been restored to a VERY good daily driver level over the last 3 years (new carpet/upholstory/bodywork/paint/tires).  Engine is a correct 1961 forward control 80 HP - runs great!  She made the trip to last year's National Convention in Jacksonville with no problem, and I did drive her every day 70+ miles to and from work (when I WAS working...).  She has been a great van, and I hate to see her go.  Heater is not installed.  Many spare parts come with this Greenbrier.  Please contact me for pictures.  Asking $7,000.
